Pathways education

Our students are offered a variety of possibilities and pathways as they consider the best way to complete their secondary education.

As students enter their senior school years, they can personalise their VCE journey by selecting from 3 options: An academic VCE, the applied learning centred VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) or the specialised VictorianPathways Certificate (VPC). These courses have within them, the possibility of engaging in Vocational Education and Training (VET) or a School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT’s). There is also the option to complete accelerated VCE studies within the myMAP years, and to enter accelerated university subjects during VCE that contribute to students’ ATARs.

ߺ College does empower students to choose between completing the VCE through a scored pathway striving for an ATAR that allows them to access their University choice, or a non-scored pathway.

This non-scored pathway is called PIVOT which stands for PathwaysInvolving Vocations or Training, and is suitable for students who have a clear career pathway that does not require an ATAR score. Within this program students are offered a range of short nationally recognised courses that are focused on employability skills to enhance their opportunities for employment or further training.

Students and families are supported with making these decisions along their ߺ Journey by their Learning Mentor Teacher and members of the qualified Pathways Team.
